Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado is 60 miles east of Durango, Colorado, which is the closest commercial airport. We are located 20 miles out of Pagosa Springs. The altitude of the ranch is xxxx feet and we will go up from there. The weather varies from hot and dusty, to wet and soggy, and to ice and snow (sometimes all in the same day)
Many of the hunts and pack trips will be between xxxx-xxxx0 feet. To avoid altitude sickness, be sure and drink plenty of water and keep the consumption of alcohol and caffeine to a minimum.
Alcohol: We do not provide alcohol for trips. Within reason, we will pack in your adult beverages. Remember there is a weight limit for each person. A 60 pound weight limit is enforced with a $185 per horse fee for animals required to transport extra gear. Under no circumstances will anyone be allowed to ride a horse or hunt under the influence of alcohol. Drunkenness is not tolerated in guide camps; if violated, we reserve the right to terminate your hunt and you will be packed out without a refund.
Gratuities: Our guides and wranglers work hard to provide you with a memorable back country outing, tips are greatly appreciated.
Licenses: Hunting licenses and hunter safety card, (if born on or after Jan1, xxxx) are required for all persons carrying a gun. A Colorado Fishing license is required for all fishing on public land. Fishing, hunting, or hiking licenses from the State of Colorado provide rescue insurance in case of an emergency in the high country. Licenses may be purchase at most sporting goods store, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, or at the Sportsman Supply, located quarter mile north of the Toner Ranch.
Hunting: Hunting is just that- hunting, we can?t guarantee that you will kill out during the trip, but every opportunity will be provided for a successful hunt and experience in the high country.
Physical Condition: Am I fit enough? The high country offers a world-class wilderness experience. Hunting, hiking, or camping, is very demanding physically. The better physical shape you are in, the more enjoyable the experience will be.
Cell Phones: Can you hear me now? Probably not, maybe, sometimes. Cell service is hit and miss throughout the wilderness area. The best chances of service is on top of a mountain. Many of guides and wranglers have learned a few key spots to increase your chances of reception.
Deposit Policy: A 50% non-refundable deposit in the form of cash, check or money order, Visa or MasterCard is due at the time the reservation is confirmed and contract is signed. No reservations is secured without a deposit. Final payment is prior to departure date. Deposits are only refundable up to 60 days before the booked dates. Nonrefundable deposits may be used on future services; guided summer camp or hunt, summer drop camp or hunt, hop n drop, game pack out or trail rides. Failure to draw and rolling deposits into an over the counter season negates all draw only commitments.
